KaVo Everest Zirconium YZ

Aesthetics and flexural strength without compromise

The top material of the future is KaVo zirconium ceramic.  When making the decision to use this high-tech material in your practice, you are gaining important advantages.  this biocompatible material is completely non-allergic and can be used with conventional cement.  With KaVo zirconium ceramic you can offer your patients a non-metallic, aesthetic dental restoration.

High aesthetic - Non Metallic

Fabrication of prostheses in Everest zirconium, are remarkable in appearance with maximum aesthetic and function.  the yttrium-stabilized ceramic is absolutely free of meta.  This, together with high flexural strength of greater than 1150 MPa makes Everest zirconium the first choice for both anterior and posterior crowns and bridges.

KaVo Everest zirconium ceramic, "Ceramic Steel"

KaVo Everest zirconium ceramic has a special position among ceramic materials from every point of view.  The term "ceramic steel", refers to the outstanding mechanical properties.  The high breakage strength is the main advantage of Everest Zirconium ceramic.  Yttrium-stabilized zirconium, is the only ceramic that has the property of suppressing microcracks.  The addition of ytrrium oxide, inhibits or prevents microcracks in zirconium.

Proven results with scientific confirmation

All conventional dental ceramics lose more than 50% of their flexural strength as the years pass, because of the effects of chewing loads.  The high initial flexural strength of more than 1150 MPa, means that the value is still above 600 MPa after years of use and it remains stable at about this level.  According to Kappert, bridge frames (3 units) in the posterior region must have a minimum flexural strength of 400 MPa.  KaVo zirconium ceramic remains at a level almost 200 MPa higher at 600 MPa.

Coloring agents for even better aesthetics

The aesthetic attraction of pure-white zirconium can be increased with KaVo Everest zirconium ceramic, by the use of Vita Coloring Liquid.  This may be used to color zirconium frames in five colors.  Thus providing them with a natural dentine-like appearance.  This allows us to achieve optimum aesthetics, with only a thin layer of porcelain.  As confirmed by the University of Munich, the flexural strength of the material is not influenced by the coloring liquids.

As well as the high and permanent wear resistance of the zirconia YZ material, the high precision milling of the KaVo Everest milling machine, a 5-axis dental milling unit, reduces the risks to a minimum.  "Surface defects, caused by post-processing, can reduce the strength of the zirconium frame".  This is reported by Manfred Kern and R. Peter Schubinski, Dipl-Ing., in the article "Fracture quota is below the separation rate".  Milling with KaVo Everest is precise to the micron.  This make post-processing virtually unnecessary and the resulting surface defects are virtually never encountered.
